Jail or Prison Ministry

  • Interdenominational Christian ministry
  • Voluntary participation
  • Respects religious differences
  • No time-off sentence
  • Provided at no cost to the correctional facility or program participant
  • 75-90 minute classes for men include video lessons and discussion questions
  • Classes are scheduled one day a week
  • 10-week course, “Stepping Up: A Call to Courageous Manhood” by FamilyLife
  • Content is based on the 5 steps of manhood
  • If permitted, participants receive workbooks and 3 daily assignments for the week
  • Students participate in a “360 review” and evaluation
  • Participants develop a plan for “stepping up” in some key areas of their lives.
  • Community-led after initial round of hands-on training

Men of Valor Reentry Program

  • Organized and led by a self-governing, local Christian ministry team
  • Feasibility study conducted
  • Men of Valor program model chosen
  • Start-up assisted by Lives on Mission Ministries Inc.
  • Program tailored to fit the ministry size – from 2 to 12+ local team members
  • Income-based housing options
  • Job preparation and placement help
  • Education or vocational training options
  • Referrals to vital community resources
  • Bible study and spiritual guidance
  • Personalized life-skill trainings
  • Mentoring and accountability
  • Peer support options
  • Outcomes tracking
  • Program evaluations
